This weekend has truly been amazing.  Friday we arrived and got settled in.  Saturday we got our bikes and took a tour of the city center.  Brescia is a gorgeous city.  I fell in love with it the second we got into center city, fell in love again when I had the gelato here.  We went grocery shopping which was interesting.  Americans are lazy, so much of the food we eat is already made for us.  Many items in Italy are the basics, and they cook everything fresh.  Saturday night we went to a classical concert.  The theatre was beautiful and it was relaxing.  Then Sabina took us out later with some of her friends.  Sunday we went to the old cathedral and attended a Latin mass.  It was very medieval and a bit chilly inside.  Then we went to the street market.  You can drink out of fountains here.  All the water is drinkable unless there is a sign.  The street market was great!  Food was everywhere from different regions of Italy and different countries around the world.  Hopefully after this week I can say more than Ciao to everyone I see.
